Contains the following types of materials: photographs, color transparencies. Covers the following war and time period: 1942-1944 (stateside), Vietnam War. General description of the collection: The Jean E. Engler photograph collection does not contain photos which cover his entire career. There are, however, three periods represented herein. The first group are vehicle tests in water and in the desert during the years 1942-1944. They show both wheeled and tracked vehicles. The next group are Jean E. Engler's promotion to brigadier general in 1956. The final group are photos of Lieutenant General Engler as deputy commanding general, USARV, and the interior of the Command Management Center at Tan Son Nhut, Vietnam (both during 1966).

Jean E. Engler was a United States (U.S.) Army officer from 1933-1969. He was a United States Military Academy (USMA) graduate and rose through the ranks to promotion to brigadier general in 1956 and was the deputy commanding general (CG) for the United States Army, Vietnam, (USARV) in 1966.
